Antenna replacment Sux!!!!
So, do you think Mazda could've made the access hole for the power antenna just a little bigger?!!?!? It took me FOREVER to get the damn thing out.... But, I am happy to have my power antenna working again... anybody else been through this frustrating ordeal?

I was lucky, I only had to replace the mast.. When it was real cold a couple weeks ago, two of the sleeves froze to each other... the motor pushed so hard, that it popped the actual mast out! Cost me 84 freakin' dollars....

I've replaced a half dozen of these things and never had to remove the taillight. But there IS a trick and a twist to get the thing thru the access hole. Pretty easy to figure it out if you think about it, and try a couple things. The key is this: remember that they had to make the hole so a guy on the assembly line could put it in easily and quickly, even if he has to employ a trick twist.

anyway.. i guess you were right dan, when you said it may be easier to remove your tail light. haha.
oh yeah, if it starts to stick on y'all, use wax paper or wax on the antenna. it allows it to glide easier..

I was just thinking about antennas when I remembered that my aunts expedition has an antenna that runs down one of the rear windows. It looks like two parallel black lines running down the window. I was wondering if any company made an antenna like that that you could buy. I think it would fit on the hatch and would not obstruct visibility at all.

You guys would never make it as ObGyns! It's like delivering a baby! Open the hatch, sip a quarter of a beer, and you'll see how it comes out. If you're in NorCal, bring it over to my place: the Maestro will demonstrate.
