I'm looking for either the antenna mast or the entire power antenna unit for a 1983 RX-7 GS model.
I've been looking for a while most savage yards I have checked the antenna is broken!
Any help will be appriecated!
I love my RX-7 (i have owned a 1979 (1979 to 1984) and 1984 (1984 to 1992).
I purchased a 1983 with 47K in very good working order (2001).

I just picked up and installed a power antenna from Auto Zone. Looks fine, works fine. No complaints here.
There are two types (American / European) I forget which is which but you need the one that has the rounded rubber grommits to choose from vs the flat type.
Where our antennas go from the factory won't accept the flat grommit. Water will get in.
I believe it wound up being the more expensive of the two... 30 sumthin vs 50 sumthin dollars... I bought the cheaper one, found out I needed the rounded grommit type which was the more expensive, went back bought that one tooo... took the piece I needed and returned it.

I hear the new masts are a real pain to install, hardly worth the trouble and cost, which is more than a new aftermarket replacement.
I've had great success with the old Radio Shack units, only $15-20 and they work great. But Radio Shack quit making them about 5 years ago and they are now impossible to find.
But I think the ones at Autozone, etc, are pretty much the same thing and should work fine, as noted above - the ones I've seen for around $30-35 look pretty much like the Radio Shack ones.
Also there is this on Ebay which looks like the same product as RS was selling:

I have 3 RS power antennas stockpiled for use as I need them, because kids used to snap the antenna in passing if I was dumb enough to leave it up after parking. But now I rewire them so that they retract automatically when the ignition is cut, per instructions from one of the guys here on the rx7club. You can probably find it with a search or I can copy it from my Palm Pilot, if necessary. Let me know.
I believe that one of the standard aftermarket power antennas for imports will work just as well.
the power antenna is much preferred to the stationary antenna for car washes and streetside parking.
