Another Turbo ?
Well, I get no response in the FC forum, so I'll ask the TII guys here. Where can I send an S5 turbo to get rebuild and balanced? I called up rx7store.net, but those guys want 2 legs and an arm in for form of $500. I'm sure there's a place that can do it right, the first time for much less than that. Please help me, this motor is begging to get dropped in.
Thanks in advance.

It was a few years ago,but I got my S5 turbo rebuilt AND upgraded to a TO4B compressor for about that much.Well worth the upgrade and it still hooked up to all the stock connections, including the TMIC.
Call Turbonetics and see if they still do factory turbo upgrades.Someone told me they stopped doing it,but they had no problem doing mine.

I'm just trying to stay stock for right now. I just need a stock rebuild and a balance. This is my first turbo FB project, and I don't have that kind of money, so I'll be happy with stock for the time being.

I really hate to say it but, if the $500 is too much for a rebuild and balance, then you really shouldnt go further as its going to get worse. The rebuild isnt were your money goes, its cleaning, and balancing, then of course the economy is worse now. If you still want to get a rebuild, look up supercars or simular, they do stock rebuild, and mod them too.

man, just get you one off ebay that's in really good conidition. i see them all the time for a couple hundred bucks. no shaft play and all. like anex said, if your complaining about a 500 dollar turbo rebuild, then you should probably stay n/a.

Thanks boostin.
I see the turbo kits going for 100-150, but I'm not trying to destroy this turbo, as I've never rebuilt one before, or have I seen it done. turbocity.com doesn't list the S5 turbo any more. I realize this isn't a cheap project, but I'm not trying to annihilate my wallet for a turbo rebuild.
