Another strange noise/feeling thread (Thud in drivetrain)

Let me set the stage. Under full-throttle pulls, I will sometimes feel a thud from the shifter. This thud will only happen once during that pull. It does not happen every time I accelerate hard either. It feels to be coming from the drivetrain but I cannot pinpoint it. It is a little unnerving, so I am just curious if anyone else has had a similar experiences. The thud is more felt than heard, it is barely audible. BTW, my tranny has also been whining for sometime too. Car is a 79 GS w/44k

That is all I can say about it. I am thinking that I will find out when something breaks.

Thanks,
Rick

Hmm, maybe start by checking the tranny mount. After that, ujoints maybe? You've got a weird one here for sure...

Tranny mount was actually replaced two years ago. I wonder if it is possible that the input shaft bearing could be binding under load?
