the miata shifter will fit
short shifters suck, leave the stock one
if i had to get one, the only one i would use would be a C's shifter, if you could find one.

I bought a Miata short shifter on eBay recently for $12. Haven't had time to try and install it yet...

Why do they suck? I like the feel.

i also bought a miata one.... but i was wondering that guy on ebay that sells the mk1 short throws for fb's and fc's... why does he have such a big difference in price if its the same thing??... the fc one is like 80 something and the fb is 170 something.... i just thought there was a difference... i should of just bought the fc one rather then the miata one.... but oh well too late, i'll install it this weekend... i went ahead and ordered a greddy counterweight shift ****... it weighs 14oz... its super heavy...!

All FB and FC shifters interchange. The only difference is the S5 shifters have a different thread pitch for the *****.

Depends how short it is... some of them are so short you can hardly find the gears, but on the early transmissions stock feels like you're driving a truck especially compared to even stock S5 or Miata shifters.
