Another Ringing Noise........water pump?
84 GSL.
I had a ringing noise before, which was diagnosed as bad bearings or bushings........something with the alternator.
I picked up a 91 Alternator from a local club member, which (after slight electrical connection fabrication) took away the ringing, and puts out perfect amperage.
The ringing seemed to vanish completely.
I'm still running on only one belt, obviously for the Alternator. The Belt is brand new, and this is not a belt squeal noise.
I don't have any temp problems......it heats up properly, stays around the 1/8-1/4 mark on the guage. Never overheated......no leaking coolant.
Its a different ring than before....and never seems to last long.....just intermittant.
Does this sound like a noise the waterpump might make? Does the water pump suffer at all with only one belt? (I am buying a dual belt pulley from hIGGI)
Any ideas?

Again, its not a belt noise. Brand new belt, tension is fine. I've changed the belt like 10 times in the past month of having the bad alternator.
There is a difference between a belt squeal and the ringing noise.
