Another question re: stalling
Here is the bottom line, an 84 stock GSL, when running the a/c and decelerating the rpms will drop like a rock to 0 and the car will sometimes stall or it might recover and then idle where it should. Even without running the a/c, on deceleration the rpms will fall past the idle point and then have to come back up, it just not as bad and does not stall the car.
My problems started with the car barely being able to idle with the a/c on. I started trouble shooting by making sure the a/c solenoid was working on the rats nest. When I did this I found out what those little black **** looking things where on the nest, little air filters, so I cleaned the one for the a/c solenoid. Then I adjusted the throttle opener and got the car to idle within specs while running the a/c. Drove the car for a couple days and it would still stall out on me. I tried adusting the dashpot and made sure the tps was set correctly, no luck. Today I might check the dashpot again because I can't say for sure that it is even working.
