alternator pully question

TN alternator pully question

i need to change my alternator pulley and i would like to know if i have to take off the fan to do so?

No. The pulley is held on with a nut. Hope you have impact tools to get that nut off, otherwise its just going to spin on you.

Now if you meant the alternator belt, then yes, you do need to remove the four bolts holding the fan on. You might be able to try to get the belt over the fan, I've never tried.

You can take the belt off without taking your fan off. Do a little thinking itll work, ive done it and im not so bright.

i thought i'd be able to get it round the fan, thanks i appreciate it... btw im sure my threads been done before not trying to purposfully post threads that have been done but search won't work for me for some reason... thanks again

try putting the belt >>>BETWEEN<<< the fan blades, and you will discover that the other part of the belt has enough room to clear the fan blades.
