Your Alternator is putting out amps. its not DC, so its a very high fire risk.

Your battery probally was too small and it basically backfired. there are alternators on ebay for 20 bucks, no worries.

go with the FC, but make sure you get a battery that matches the alternator you pickup.

oh sorry, posted that , didnt see you posted .

You dont want to big of a batter or your alternator wont be able to put in enough energy and it will burn out the alternator.

Check with anyone want the right size battery is. PM some people.

Rotor vs piston might know.

? Partying tonight? That is the most incorrect and uninformed post I've read in weeks. Current is DC and no more of a fire hazard than AC. Battery size makes no difference as the alt is internally regulated. Either the internal regulator failed, something shorted out, or, since the belt melted, the bearing in the alt froze.

S4 alt is a direct swap, stock battery is fine, no need to change.

Nicholas, go to bed.

You can go to bed too, he has a 12A.

Electricty consists of 3 parts, amps, current and voltage. Current is either AC or DC.

Take it to an electrical shop and have it rebuilt. Cheaper than the parts store, more reliable than a used one.
