All things in Moderation...

Man-o-man is this fun...busting on my bro Carl.
But as one that's been dishing it pretty well, as his buddy, business partner, and also as probably the member on this board who has the longest history of needing to be hasseled by moderators, there's something I gotta say...

When Bob (inittab) took over a moderators spot here, many of my incesant gripes were finally answered. Suddenly there was someone willing to spend oodles of time to organize some of the information this database provides, and set up some user-easy troubleshooting stickies - Not just to stop the overposting of redundant noob Qs, but to make finding the answer easy for those poor bastards who alternate between the freezing cold, rain or darkness trying to start their no-starts to the warmth of the light beside the CRT - the window to a group of people with answers.
We've all been there, pounding keys with numb fingers looking for the F-ing answer to our Seven woes.

I think we all owe Bob a round of applause and a round of beer. How we do this via keyboard, I don't know. But in conversation with him, please don't forget to thank him. Take a second to see what he's done so far. It's a better place already.

And then there's Carl...the dancing fruit.
Carl enriches this board with his wit, experience, racing experience, and down-to-earth dialogue. He types to experienced and noobs alike as if they are all peers.
He doesn't make ANY Q sound like a foolish one, and takes time to answer even the most basic Qs.
His knowledge of SCCA rules & regs have and will continue to help old timers and novice trackers understand the track ***** perspective. He's one to challenge, too. If he says "it don't fly with them..." it's because he's already argued it first hand.

Of all the members here, there are maybe half a dozen who are qualified to moderate.
I'm very appreciative of the fact that the new 1st gen forum moderators are knowledgeable, on the same level with the rest of us, here among us, familiar with us, tolerant of my bad behavoir, and have a sense of humor.

Kidding with Bob and Carl is great. But I want them to know how happy we are to have them.

-As for the old mods, I hope they check in from time to time just to say "Hi" and that they will still regard this page as a sort of home. Let's not forget that they did take out the trash when it needed to be done.

******' A.

Well said - and I agree with every word of it (except the parts about Carl knowing what he's taking about - JK)

I've seen a difference on the forum (not taking away from the past law enforcement) - a job well done by all and I for one very much appreciate it

...Why the friggin NERVE! At least know what the hell yer talkin about before you go telling someone what they should be saying. Who the hell do you think you are, anyway? I know more about the gratuitous use of the word **** than anyone on here, buddy, so shut yer keyboard, bitch!
Ya know- you try to relate and there's always gotta be one ***** to tell you all about your shortcomings like their so damn high and mighty...like they never gratuitously use foul language to help emphasise or illustrate a point. What the hells the matter with you people, huh?

...Uhhh yeah, well there you go.
Ahhh. I feel so much better now! You should all try to dose on this stuff- it's so great!
Just pick out an innocent guy, preferably someone really nice like slashdawg, and unload on him for absolutely no reason at all. Yeah you'll look like an *******, and get repremanded by the Goderators, but it's so well worth it!

That's frickin' hilarious! Anyways, great jobs, two thumbs up to the moderators!

Down with the V8 crap! If you gotta do a V8 swap go get a Datsun to do it to and leave the rotary alone.

Let me make this perfectly clear, bribing the moderators is fully expected and encouraged.

It's good to see some active moderators on this section of the board. The inclusion of a FAQ is long overdue and is really quite helpful.

Innitab and RX7Carl should be great moderators. Heck, they've already moderated my vitrol against V8 swaps, so at least we know they're doing their jobs.

Special props go out to RX7Carl, everything Sterling said in his post is 100% correct. Carl has helped me out on more than one occasion, always with kind words to my very novice questions.

I will. Is everyone making you gag or just certain individuals? Enquiring minds want to know.
