Air pump and alternator belt - NOOB Q's
What size or part number are the belts used to power the air pump and the one for the alternator?
Im so sorry for posting this but have searched and searched already and although the 3L220 belt has came up alot I need to be sure of the part number (or size) for both belts so I can continue to run my air pump until I decide to remove the cat and upgrade the exhaust.
I don't want to clog the cat or anything before Im ready to remove it so just want the dimensions or part numbers for the two standard belts.
Thanks a million

Why don't you just go to an auto parts store and ask for their part number? They should also be able to cross reference that number into other manufacturers' numbers.
When I worked at Pep Boys, I did that all the time. Tho, I know Pep Boys isn't in N. Ireland but...if that still doesn't help, go to Advance Auto Parts and AutoZone website and punch in your car's information. Then search for belts. They'll list the part number to that manufacturer of the belt. This really is the ONLY way to effectively get the right belt for your car.

That is the easy way to do it. Although I drove without my airpump for about a year before replacing the exhaust with no real noticeable problems. I'm sure it takes quite a while for the cats to clog up to the point that it becomes an issue.

That is a good technique and good starting point, but the ONLY way to get the right belt is by comparing the belts yourself in person. Cross-references are never 100% accurate. Often different manufacturers have different measurement and manufacturing tolerances and sometimes they can vary by several millimeters in size. The widths, too, can vary.
On several occasions I have gone to purchase a new belt, and after seeing what I was given, requested a different size. Remember to allow for stretching so that a new belt does not become too big for the available range of adjustment.

Thanks guys, I work in Germany for long periods so I was kinda hoping to order something off the internet and have it sitting back home in Ireland when I eventually arrive back.
Will have to wait a few weeks before I can get it sorted by the looks of it
