Air leak with RB lower manifold (12A Dellorto)

Air leak with RB lower manifold (12A Dellorto)
There is a thin metal shield, bolted to the rear housing, which prevents junk from dropping down into the flywheel clutch area. It is just to the rear of the intake and exhaust manifold next to the gearbox bellhousing.
I found this plate sandwiched between the Racing Beat lower intake manifold and the rear engine housing causing an air leak.
The RB manifold extends back further (the back edge/wall is very thick) than the standard card manifold. Fortunately the standard manifold gasket doesn't extend that far back otherwise it would cause a huge leak.
Probably when this was originally installed the new gasket was able to hold a seal but now the gasket is older and thinner air was being sucked in.
Needless to say I will be trimming this plate before refitting it. And my car now idles much better and acellerates without hesitation now.
Just an FYI if you have this manifold.
