Air intake questions

I have a 1985 GSL-SE, and have been searching for a aftermarket intake for it. Every time I search for one on the major parts sites, the only result I get is a cone filter. Can I remove the stock air box and put a cone filter on? Will it effect the MAF sensor? Has anyone seen an aftermarket intake for a 1985 GSL-SE?

I think you have to use a cone filter and fabricate your own. use the search button and you'll see alot of threads about it.

But i think you should focus on upgrading you exhaust before messing with your intake imo.

UNless you fab something up you can either by the filter with the adapter piece to make it fit(racing beat) or you can get that and use some tubing to replace all of the plastic and rubber piping going to the intake from the back of the AFM. Other than that if you want somethign different you have to get rid of the AFM which would require a stand alone.

Edit: yes exhust > intake on these cars first.
