air/fuel ratio gauge for 12a
what would be the best type of A/F gauge on a stock port 12a. I don't have the cheese for a wideband. Would one of the led bar style work ok? like the $30 one at summit. a friend can get me a bosch sensor for $20. does the rotary give a different reading than the pisston engine thanks for any info

narrow band, the PCM uses it and has no problem , I use it and still have no proble, why ?, I know what's going on, a simple rule, if it's over .6v it's rich, if it's under .5v it's lean, so lets say you are at 1.1v you know your rich and you hit what ever adjustment and you keep on hiting that adjustment until it drops below .5v and then you back track on the adjustment, and you do this in all the power ranges, sooner or later you will hit mark, you can go to NAPA, or what ever parts house you like and get a 18mm boss, cut a hole close to the ex manifold and weld it in.

^^^that's not tuning... that's guessing.
EGT's to me are an accessory to tuning with a wideband. hence, one temp may be good for one engine, but different for another. but, it is a great thing to have. alot of people do not realize this.

I have a stockport, not a stock engine. header(homemade) and sidedraft 45 dcoe. I just want to be in the ballpark. It runs good now I just want to make sure I am not leaning out. So the gauge won't be accurate enough for that?

some will say yes... but i've seen the two side by side while tuning a turbo 6port fc. we had the light show airfuel meter in there just to see what was happening. half the time when we went lean it showed rich. WTF!!!
