there's not many for the nikki, usually costum fab, but there are a couple that i know of

http://rx7.com/store/rx7/saintake.html

and racing beat's

http://racingbeat.com/FRmazda1.htm

some have made their "cold air intake" by re-routing the snorkel to the outside of the car infront of the radiator. I myself have cut holes in the stock breather for better flow.

The RB model has the added advantage of creating a very mean sound when you open the secondaries. Something to do with the shape, acting as a speaker to produce a deep growl. Very nice.

The RB unit replaces the entire stock assy. The Bonez sold by Rx7.com is a replacement lid that uses the stock lower. Not really in the same class as each other.

I have a prototype unit that is composite, flowed with CFD and won the ARRC. I have thought about making them available in the past.

Just curious… got any pics? You make great items any thought of a one time build?

I will get some in the next few days. We would need to build molds and then the parts. Maybe now is a good time to duct it off and see what can be made of it.

Hmm, sounds like there might be a few used RB units coming up for sale...

I can't wait to see what your design looks like Billy.

Here are the pics. First I want everyone to understand this is a PROTOTYPE. Function before Form. The part was run successfully on the ARRC winning FB in 2006. Yes the design has sat since then.

A true production part would be heavily refined utilizing the proven "flow" characteristics. Converted to one inlet and supplied bare fiberglass construction.

Bill it looks mean that funnel lid must really get the flowing. Did you notice any difference with the two large openings compared to the RB style of all sides open being open?

Yes, it allowed up to pull the air from a better place by ducting from the inlets. The hot air just above the headers is the worst air to use.

i don't remeber which parts place i got it from but the chrome 6 5/8 air cleaner i'm using on my holley actually came with a black plastic adapter that fit the stock nikki. all i had to do to use it was to cut off the stem that the wing nut goes on and drill and tap it for a 1/4-20 piece of threaded rod to screw into it with a bit of loctite. then a wing nut to secure the lid. now considering the work i do, i could make an adapter for any round air cleaner that would normally fit a holley, to fit the stock rotary carb.
