AHHHHH Carb kit PLEASE!
So first of all, I am new... but not ignorant. I recently picked up a 1982 RX-7 for free because the engine was seized... we all know what that means.... carbon lock, fixed that. and got her to start for a few min before I let her die because of cruddy old gas. put in new gas and some Chevron with Techron to clean some crap out and she wont start no more...
Thinking its a problem in the idle circut in the carb. I know its the Nikki and I know I need the Hygrade Carb rebuild kit but where can I get it ONLINE... I basicly work from 7AM to 8PM wich means I cant go get the kit somewhere and I dont have time to Call and order one either!! AHHHHHHHH... so I am wondering where to get a kit online, or if anyone has suggestions on what to do before taking on a carb rebuild (Not a new thing for me, tackled MUCH more scary carbs than a single 4BBL carb)
more on what happens: plug in block heater for an hour to warm engine some, take off heater and crank engine... get an attempt at running and it dies, crank wile pumping gas... nothing, crank without gas and it attempts to run but as soon as I push the gas it dies again... havent tried much with starting fluid yet, should I? new batterie and I have cleaned the plugs twice to ensure they arent fouled plugs... any ideas or should I get the Carb Kit and dig in?

Airflow is my life
Welcome to the forum.
Your choke might be sticking. Try less than full choke. Cold weather starting is hard on a rotary cause of their low cranking compression. Which leads me to ask is the cranking speed good? You can use a cheaper carb kit if you reuse the metal gaskets/crush washers. Thats the worst part about the cheaper kits like the VB ones. Is it flooding at all? Were the plugs wet?

It did flood once and I followed procedure, took out plugs and cranked engine to push out the flooded fuel and cleaned off the plugs too.
Where is the choke located? I have been messing with some of the levers behind the air cleaner and I get no difference, of course I could just be messing with the wrong levers... it seems to me like i am going to have to take some of that lever assembly apart anyways to lube it, as it does not move as freely as I would hope.
