i have used accel thundersport 300's and i like them. i have heard reputable things about moroso. i think you would be ok with either. if you have a stock ignition system, i would reccomend the stock ngk's.

They are spiral wound wires. Good quality. Yes they come in blue by default, but other colors are availible, like yellow for TJ. Summit carries premade sets for 1st gens, or you can get universal ones if you run a direct fire setup.

I like the Accel wires, haven't run the Morosos because I tend to associate their name with SBCs too much and it offends my rotary sensibilities.
The BEST wires I ever used were the ones that I made myself using solid-core copper wire in an 8mm jacket at a total cost of under 10 bucks. One time I pulled up behind a cop who started slapping at his radio and lookin' around. You can't put a price on fun like that!

I have used both the Moroso and Accel. I like the Moroso better because they seem to plug in better and make better contact. They had a nice audible click and stayed in, where the Accel ones just slid in there.
I currently have Accel on this car and would like to replace them with Moroso if that tells ya anything.

LOL, but you cant use solid wires with an MSD.

Or is the MSD5 box way different from the one that people use on rotaries? Anyway, thanks for the tip.

So the MSD box wants to see some wire resistance, eh?That's good to know as I was thinking of making up a set for my FIESTA, and I just got an MSD5 box on this FIESTA parts car that I just scored for $75.

No, its not that. My Moroso spiralwound wires are not resistor wires and work great. Soild core wires emit ALOT of EMI as you know. That interferes with the MSD functioning correctly.

It is this resistance that suppresses EMI emission.
The main advantage to spiral-wound ferric-conductor wires is that they do not degrade in time like regular carbon-string wires, which also have much higher resistance to begin with. I'm thinking that if the MSD boxes are susceptible to EMI, maybe one could add a Mu-metal shield to good effect? Has anyone tried this?

Not trying to start an argument, but spiral-wound wires DO have resistance. (150 ohms/foot on the Accels IIRC)

Sheilding soilds may or may not work, as they emit ALOT of EMI.

No you are correct, there is SOME resistance in the spiral wires, but however I will argue that the reason they emit little EMI is cause of the spiral winding. Do you know about the left hand rule of magnetism?

Good god, it's been 20 years since that was covered in tech school.
Refresh my memory and maybe I'll agree with you.
Also, remember the Racing Bleat "Red-hot" wires that were essentially a solid-conductor wire with a resistor soldered on the end for EMI suppression?

10$ sounds nice to me
