Hey, welcome to the forum. It can take 4 days for a professional to rebuild it properly , paint it, clean it, etc. (atleast the guy who i want to rebuild my engine). You should buy the rebuild video from atkinsrotary. study it over and over and then go for it. First tho, before you ask more ?s, check out faq page, archives and use the search button. Hope everything works out and god bless. Oh ya, trochoid will tell you how long it takes to rebuild a engine. He rebuilds rotarys for cheap. You should probably check him out. God bless

how long will depend on ur mechanical ability and the amount of time u will actually have to spend on it from start to finish. get urself a repair manual that has the rebuild procedure in it. it's the cleaning for reassembly that takes the most time. good luck and welcome aboard.

For a first time R&R, allow 2 weeks. While the actual assembly, with experience, can take 4 hours or less. it's all of the other steps that eat up time. Simply cleaning the parts often takes longer than pulling the engine and tranny. Then there is the tear down, inspection of parts, ordering or locating unexpected parts that need replaced, detailing, refurbishing. preserving, restoring all of the little neglected parts in the engine bay. Pre-assembly with test fitting and measureing components. Porting, carb rebuild, etc., etc..
While these engines are very simple and relatively easy to assemble, it's all of the many other little steps that add up, time and cost wise, if one wants to do a proper and not a 'ghetto get it done', job.
Btw twinkletoes, while I appreciate the support and faith you have in my work, and I do my best to be inexpensive, not cheap, even at that, most 1st genners are not willing to pay even my prices as a full rebuild often costs more than many have paid for thier car outright.
