85 Ring and Pinion, Long or Short nose?

Just a ? for the gurus, is my 85 ring and pinion suitable for a Miata? Is it considered long or short nose?

79-85 are short pinion including RX-2 and RX-3 SP. I havent measure the ring size on the miata's. majority of the earlier ones (up to mid-90's) that I have inspected are only 4.10.

Talking

lol I would have more if they would count my postwhoring @ west forum.

I forget to mention, they're open diffy also. Our junkyards are filled with miata's. If you have a GSL, then a GSL-SE 3rd member (4.09-4.10) is an easy swap. Non-GSL requires lot of tylenol.

I've got a buyer who wants my 3.909 out of my GSL which now has 5.12. The info was to confirm it'll work in his car.

hehe, I already have SE front and rear on the fast one. Mikuni is on the street car, it's nice for a stock port.

Are you sure you don't want to part with the 5.12? I think you are collecting too many good parts and need to spread them out among the needy,
