When setting the lash with a dial indicator on the ring(crown) gear (85 lsd rear end) What is the proper lash in thousands (0.00) between the ring and pinion gear? Is there a web site or link on rebuilding 1st gen rear ends?

 

Nobody out there has the shop manual for the '85 RX7? It should be in the mazda shop manual, not the Haynes.

Thank you, Yes I know that there is a lot more to it than just the pinion/ring gear lash as I work on marine gear sets(main propulsion reduction gears) as large as an RX7. What is an FSM? Does this mean "field service manual." Where do I download it from?

 

FSM=Factory Service Manual. Sorry I don't know the website for the download, I have my own manuals.
