ok well all is together with the switch pieces, my ex came over and after some wierd hand contortions got these little pieces to fit back together. Now my son is putting steering column back together. After all this it is still not fixed, becasue I have the wrong combo switch..so still need one if someone has one laying around for a 85 gsl-se f.i. not sure if this matters but it also has cruise control, although I don't think the combo switch has anything to ddo with that. I could be wrong. So thanks for reading about my woes!

cruise resume, set, etc. is on the right stalk of the combo switch, so you'll need the same kind.
