And that makes it the best? How?
So do you think the 10a motor is better than a 13b?
Your trying to comparing something like the old rx7 point system over the new electronic dissy. You can't. The electronic is better and that is why everyone goes that way and the same with the rear disk.

Never will a rear drum out perform a rear disk even if the rear only does a small % of the braking. The 30% on the disk is better, less maintance if properly maintained and easy. Now the good thing about a rear drum but you can still do it on a rear disk is to adjust the rear drums out some so you can do a hell of a brake stand even though I have done several in a rear disk car.

All of it does look the same, But the flange is just a bit smaller so that the bolt holes do not line up. Also Some flanges were taped and others required Nuts on the back side.

I think you can also use an 84 85 12A shaft as they are preaty much the same.

I agree with you. The rear brakes of the 1980 Rx7 are crap, they always have trouble in the graduating part, they are very difficult to get them right, they work good for 1 or 2 months, as a daily driver, and I hate them like nothing else.

I have a SA 1980.

I changed my rear end with drums to a 83 GSL Rear end with discs and the car is now way better. I will refuse to change or go back to drums; since I run autocross with the car, it stops like nothing else and helped me alot with the LSD...

It was very easy to get the Drum/Non LSD out and installed the LSD/Disc one, I youst had a minor problem with the brake hose, the thread of the GSL Disc Brake Rear End is not the same as for the Drum Brakes Rear End... This was teh only trouble I had, after this the car is nice...

BTW: I did not changed the driveshaft of my car... I don't know why but it fitted right...
