85 glse vs. wrx

Ok..heres the match. Subaru WRX...auto, BOV, full exhaust, turbo timer, boost controller set at 20 PSI.

VS.

85 GLSE...5 speed, headers, primary+secondary cats removed, RB intake, RB/Weber intake manifolds, Holley Carb, Holley Intake Kit,(no float bowl) aluminium cluth+flywheel.

Whos gonna win??

Both are good drivers aswell. My bet is on the 7 cuz i love em, plus its my uncle whos driving.

Depends on wether you are going straight line, or corners.
Wrx will beat the **** out of the SE in a drag race, but my 12a FB will beat the **** out of a wrx in the corners (see sig).

Have you ever driven a WRX? A mildly modded 1st gen won't even come close to a stock WRX in the corners.

And like Jimmy said, unless this guy's an idiot there's no way he's running 20psi with no fuel upgrades. Apart from that, 20psi is way past the efficiency range of the stock turbo anyway.

Wow, the turbo timer alone is worth at least 40hp.

The WRX WILL win. That car is easily pumping out 300+ hp. It can handel the 20psi too. The 7 wouldn't even win on a road course. The WRX is evenly matched to the 7 in handeling, and can out accelerate the 7 by a lot, even in stock form the regular WRX goes to 60 in less than 6 seconds. In STi form, under 5 seconds.

Have you ever driven a WRX? Sorry to say that even with your mods it is going to eat your car alive. It's just a reality and you can keep saying, "have you driven mine?" till the cows come home.

You don't list poly bushing front and rear. Do you have them? If not, spend the $150 for them.

we kinda did this about 6 months ago. we took my gsl-se (its got the whole rb catalog on it) and my friends stock 03 wrx to the track (thunderhill).

the 2 cars are actually fairly even, in acceleration out of slow corners he had more grunt, but he's gotta shift twice i think down the main straight and dont at all (35-40mph to 75-80). in cornering power they seem pretty even, i think he can go in a little hotter but we exit about the same. in braking both cars were on stock pads so you cant brake much, they both get soft if you are too hard on em.

we didnt time any of the laps or anything but his stock to my modded car on the track, was fairly close, and that made it fun

You forgot to add another 40 hp for the BOV (blow off valve)

Link to my eBay auctions.
Why does your "RX-7 Parts" category list a Ford Expedition keyless entry fob and an Audi Keyless entry fob?

Is that an upgrade option?

Hey guys. Thanks for the input. But the race isn't gonna happen..atleast not for awhile now. The guy in the Subaru really messed his engine up the day before the race. Plus right now the GLSE is getting street ported as i type. Well if the race happens, i'll update the mod list and what not. Peace.

Ya. Too much boost running through it. Im not sure what has happened to it yet..but quiet frankly i dont care. Hes a ***** who thinks hes got the fastest car in school. (Im still in highschool) And he doubts the potential of the 7 as he says.."Its too old to be racing, you might want to stick to spanking those body kit hondas."
