Dont really have much options there.
Except for the EFI 13B of the 84-85 GSL-SE,all 1st gen RX-7's came with basically the same 101HP carbureted 12A engine. They are all easily swapped between the 79-85 year cars, with only minor changes made to the smog gear through the years.
A 13B 4-port from the 70's or TII 2nd gen would be a good choice for a 30-40 HP gain running a carb, but the 70's engines are getting rare and both engines fetch a fair bit of money compared to a stock 12A.For a mild/moderate upgrade from the stock HP,youll HAVE to spend some money on a different generation engine,or get a stock 12A for cheap and spend the money modifying it.You can get another 50HP out of a stock 12A with just bolt-on mods, providing you dont have to smog it and dont care about fuel consumption.

Oh, and your from Huntsville, thats awesome. I was born there 20 years ago, still visit my grandparents from time to time there. Maybe one day when I am there we can meet and haul *** down Val Monte or something.

I think but dont quote me on that. My father knows where it is exactly, he rode it all the time when he was a kid as well. Also, I would buy the RX, cause lord knows why the jeep is 800$, and the RX you can put in an engine and know the history somewhat. You can find a pretty bang awesome low mileage 12a or a good 13b for 650.

Get a 13b from a second gen, look on craigslist, the for sale section here, in your local paper, rotary resurrection for a brand new $1000 motor, anywhere. Get an oil pan and front cover from a GSL-SE, and a carb setup, all of this can be found in the for sale section.

Not likely.....figure around 2000lbs for a 12A 1st gen with no engine.
Those wheels look small, they are probably on a 2000lb axle. The trailer alone looks to be about 700-800lbs.The trailers I rent at work in that size usually have 15" wheels, with 3000lb axles, but thats still pushing it considering the weight of the trailer has to be taken into account. That trailer looks to have high speed skinnies on it.....probably 12"ers.
You need a tow dolly....... or a single/tandem axle flatbed with about a 4000lb gross capacity axle(s) and minimum deck dimensions of 14'x 6' to haul a 1st gen.
Heres what I rent to people who need to haul small cars, its light enough for a 1/2 ton truck, but will handle up to 4500lbs.........
