The risk factors that you may encounter with drawthrough is the fact that the throttle response will be slower (definantly have to learn how to drive it), and timing issues that can lead to spark knock. You can have "rotor knock" and never hear it. I'm just saying if you don't have a wideband O2 on there, don't assume it's tuned properly. The best a rotary runs is with the timing on the high side and pushing the lean side. Turbo, NA, or whatever. The best horsepower Steve Khan makes is pushing that envelope.

Nice build. I'm not knocking it. Just letting you know that you could make way more power with your same setup if it was blowthrough. Ben there. Done that. I quit playing with carbs a long time ago.

I like this a lot. I have given some thought to trying this type of thing, however I have no experience with turbos what-so-ever, but then again, all it takes is some time, some good reading, and the will. It is encouraging to see it done and also that you noted it wasn't too pricey.

It's cool that you built it for basically free. How much money did you spend total on the turbo build?

Congrats.

Actually, no. The GNX's were never drawthrough. You are thinking of the old turbo Regal's. The GNX was introduced turbo'd only one year, 1987. Actually, that was the only year the GNX was produced.

Only 547 GNX's made in 1987 and they all were SFI...not carbed.

Earlier turbo regals used the draw through.
