81 engine into an 80 sa
I got the engine in and almost wired up but i dont know if i have to change the distributer or change the wireing harness, can anyone help???

you can run the old distributer, there is no reason you cant. just drop it in and make sure your timing is right. but changing the distributer would be a good idea because the 79 to 80 rx7's used a point style distributer. the point style dizzys are really not that great. if you are not to worried about doing alittle more work Id upgrade to the 81 to 85 dizzy. thay run alot better and give you a lot better and stronger spark

k so im using the 81 distributer and trying to figure out how the wires go, the coils have the two black and white wires going to the ignition then the two yellow and green wires go to the distributer then to something... i think they go to the tach, is it possible to splice tho's???
