8.8 + Slicks

What's the biggest drag slick you can stuff under the rear of an 8.8-equipped FB without tubbing or going widebody? (trimming/beating the fender-lip is okay)

/I have searchified, but can't find an optimal size for gumballs

I realize significant suspension and perhaps axle-width modifications may be involved. I'm just trying to get an idea of what is possible without resorting to cutting up the chassis.

Do you own an RX-7 with a Ford 8.8 rear end?

I have an 8.8 from an '87 GT I'm prepping using the Granny's mounts. Installation is not complete, no. I expect I should be done by the end of Feb.

It's going to depend on how you finish it. If you moved the mounting arms in/out etc. Also depends on your wheels and offset. Wheel sizes depend on clearing the brake calipers, ride height, etc.

In other words, you're not going to know, until the rear end is in, mounted, and centered with the weight of the car on it.

Good luck.
