Question '79 Running Extremely Rich

My winter beater '79 has suddenly begun to run very, very rich. To the point where it belches out black smoke, does not idle, and gets perhaps 150KM to a full tank.

Unfortunately, I do not know anything about 1st gen carbs, and I need to drive this car daily while my '86 is in my garage being turbocharged. The car sat for 2 years before I got it, so I assume that therefore something is stuck or gummed up. The strange thing is, it ran fine for about 1.5 months, and then began running rich. I know the carb needs to be rebuilt, which I will do in the summer when I have time to learn about it.

But for now, I need a rather quick solution. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried running cleaner through it, but that didn't really help. If it's a serious issue with the carb, I'll just have to live with it until the summer and fix it then.

Thanks!
