'79 Limited pin-striping/ E6 paint?

anyone know if / what the original pin striping was on the 1979 Limited Editions?

also any suggestions on how I would get the original E6 code "Beat Black" paint duplicated?

... a former owner repainted this car a deep black which is ok but considering getting it done again in the original metallic charcoal black

Pin Stripe

There were two side by side. One white one red I peeled them off hated them. You can get the paint mixed at carquest I even have it in a rattle can. I found a company on the net that will mix any color you want and put it in a rattle can even the clear coat.

thanks tunafish ,

can't see that looking very good . don't really like the pin stripe much anyway , I'll probably leave as is without,

have you any pictures of your car inside / outside ? ...... also wondering if the front window molding is supposed to be chrome or painted?

also is that box under my passenger seat an amp?

I am 99.9% sure all first gens had the windshield trim(made of stainless steel by the way) painted black. I don't think that ever changed regardless of which year,or special model it was/is.

My LE doesn't have any pin striping while my 83 GSL does.

It also has the metal finish looking trim however it's a painted metal look. Not chrome.

Todd, those LE pics are AWESOME!!! i viewed the whole thread and what i think it neat is that the car has an emissions sticker on the left quarter window. i've never seen that. any way you could post a pic of the original window sticker?

seems like the SA trim fades to a metallic grey, vs the fb's.

Interesting, didn't even know 79's had LE. Mine was purchased new and has a 11/78 build date. Only models then were S and GS. As I remember only options at time were aluminum wheels and sunroof.

very true. mazda has beeen good at releasing limited edition and special 7's. in 79 there was the Limited, in 1980 there was the 10th Anniversary (celebrating Mazda's 10 years in North America) and the Leather Sport. in 1983 there was the Limited Edition. in 1988 there was the 10th Anniversary(celebrating 10 years of the RX-7).

So, what made the 79 Limited, limited? BTW, I'm a tennis player, LOVE that color name on your Falcon. Wish I had a white car to put it on, no offers please, don't need anymore cars.

can't believe this old thread resurfaced , but anyway , here are the differences as I know them.

It was basically the top package option for '79 with a few other goodies.

This is the list of extra features from standard from their brochure, ( "3000 lucky people get to own one" )

5 speed
A/C
sunroof
custom am/fm with 4 speakers and cassette
leather steering wheel
leather shift ****
digital quartz clock
special "beat black" paint
special "limited" emblem
special seat upholstery with matching door trim
special aluminum wheels (almex)
raised white letter bridgstones
Pin striping
personalized decal
silver metallic center console

You forgot that the Stereo system has a applifier under under the seat... I'll have to look under mine to check if it's the passanger or driver seat.

You guys with the Falcons and Galaxies take me straight back to my High School days. Many of which I'm more than happy to forget, but the cars of the era, never. Great looking Falcon.
