7.5j 45 offset will it fit a gen 1
im looking at some new wheels, will a 7.5j 45offset 18" wheel fit on a gen 1?
fronts 215/40/18 rears 225/40/18 i know 35's are closer but i dont want to go too skiny
im currently running 215/40/16 front with small spacer and 225/40/16 rears no problem 7j 45offset

Just to be clear for North American guys, the S3s had SE suspension/wheels in many other countries (but S2 style dash and such). The difference is that the SE suspension takes more like 38-40 offset, our 12A cars are more like 17mm offset, so you will need thicker spacers if you try this on a US 12A car.

gslse addict i got a ? for you you sound like you know what youre talking about ive been looking every where for this type info heres my freaking prob. im trying to put some wheels in my 85 gslse now nobody seems to have any nice wheels or want to help with the right info , what kind of offset im i looking to get if i want the rims, wheels ect to be flushed with the fender not sticking out or under the fender i mesured from base wheel bolts n got 2.5inches wich i conve. an got a # which i didnt know what to do with what im i looking for as far as offsets and fitment # thnks

offset = backspace - (rim width / 2) = 4.5 - (7/2) = 1" = 25.4 mm
So you would need a +25 offset on a 15x7 assuming you 2.5" measurement is correct.
I don't know. You will probably need a small spacer. There is not many people running 18" wheels on 1st gens, so I am not sure that you will clear suspension, fender, etc. It would be best to find someone else running 18" rims and see what they needed to do to get clearance.

finally someone taliking some sense as far as wheels for 1st gen thanks i will purchase rims 16x7 25mm offset and post pics , there seems to be many choices as far as fc, fd goes but if you got a 1st gen youre on an island by yourself...
