I'm running a TII intake on my 6-port as well. Anyone planning to run with the sleeves removed should take a close look at that aux port with the sleeve removed. It looks really nasty to me, so I chose to leave the sleeves in place. To improve flow a bit over stock, I removed the cross-pin, and ported the inside of the sleeve opening a bit to feather the pin support area.

To fix in position, I drilled a small indentation down into each iron right at the sleeve opening. The sleeve is then slipped fully into the port, and clocked to the open position. A light tap with a hammer and punch dents the sleeve down into the new indentation in the iron, locking it firmly in place. This can easily be done with the engine in the car, just be sure to plug the ports with rags and hoover out all the swarf prior to reassembly.

In an attempt to improve flow characteristics where the single TII port splits into two on the 6-port iron, I used an adapter plate between the intake and iron. I port-matched it to the modified TII intake on one side, and a spare 6-port block on the other. I have no idea if it's really any better than just bolting the modified TII intake straight to the keg, but it makes me feel better anyways!

I often wondered about just porting them as one port and what kind of results it would yield. I think I read a thread a while back about doing such, and it came with mixed reviews. Like I said, I'm not sure about leaving the sleeves in, or taking them out. I know that most guys have removed them from the posts I have read at least. Hell, I just need to get another car...
