I live just across the river from Ottawa, which of course puts me in "la belle province" of Quebec... Ugh...
So Canada Day, we were in Hull getting ready to cross over to Ottawa for the celebrations and some guy walks up with a huge Quebec flag, yelling in french about how his "country" was the better one.
For those of you who don't know about it, Quebec is a province of Canada who'se main language and culture revolve around French. This doesn't bother me, seeing as French is the second official language of Canada. What bugs me are the people who are a part of the seperatist movement who want to seperate Quebec from Canada and make a country out of it. Sure puts a damper on being Patriotic sometimes. They even have a holiday that they proclaim as "Quebec's National Holiday"... How can you have a "National Holiday" if you're not a nation to begin with? Damn St-Jean Baptiste Day... That was last week.
Next year, I'm toting a red-and-white lead pipe!

A combination of the invention of hockey, the discovery of maple syrup, and the fact that we won the war of 1812.
Along with the Tragically Hip, the Guess Who, Pamela Anderson, and about a million other Canadians that lurk in your midsts :P Muhahahah! We're everywhere!
