3rd brakelight mod - REALLY recommend this

One of the 1st gens at our GA meet last night had the corvette 3rd brake light mod on it.

This is the one that goes on top in the back.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY recommend this addon. It looks VERY sweet and does help looser SUV drivers see you better.

I used to work as an electrician, and we were throwing out old battery operated "EXIT" signs. I stripped the LED boards out of em. They're spaced about 1 inch aaprt and have 6 per board. I have a factory stype spoiler I wanna put on my car sometime, so Maybe I'll mount em in the spoiler. They're super bright. Be like the newer cars with the LED spoilers. They'd just be a little more spread out.

well i was looking at it in person 1 side said "86" the other said "dot" so i figured a 86 vette... did a little looking in my dads old mid american corvette cat. and from the pics i see it looks just like a 86 3rd brake light on a vette. that and the owner said he thought it was from a vette but wasnt 100%

....then again, i read that after extensive testing(nhtsa i believe), it was determined that the 3rd brake light has absolutely no safety benefits over regular taillights. rear end collision occurences were the same with or without the 3rd light. it does look nice, however.
