2nd Gen MAS in gls-se

I was wondering if it was possible to install a second gen (86ish) MAS into a gsl-se and what modifications would be required. I have the hks adapter for (I thought it was for the gls-se) but I think it fits the 2nd gen mas. Also the 2nd gen mas is larger (Iver heard) and flows more air. Is it possible? I saw something old that someone posted on rx7.com but no followup.
Thanks in advance,

Hugh

Gawd.. looks so damn crazy. and all I wanted to do was add a cone filter and maybe get a little more flow. OK anyone know the part # for a cone filter adapter plate to fit the gsl-se. HKS makes a few but the one I ordered was for a 86 (Doh!) now Im outta 20 bucks hehehe. Guess I can sell it to my friend, but I just got my gsl-se (after owning the 79 gs forever) and want to mod it but do it right.

thanks in advance

i think hks does have one http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=639
they list one for a 12a, i would bet its a turbo 12a and that a turbo 12a afm is the same as the gsl-se in size.
i could be wrong though

Yeah i talked to HKS they said trace the af meter and fax it and they would match me up with one. I cant believe all these GSL-se's everyone swapping out the EFI and putting carbs on . That EFI is pretty smooth. Ive heard about people swapping the entire upper manifold / lower manifold air funnel and af meter for the second gen but I dont have many details on that either (like if the computer (ECM) works with the other sensors in the gsl-se) Doesnt the 2nd gen use crank angle sensors? too many diferences in the electronics

Just for 20 % more air shucks maybe I will go with a carby too but I like that smooth idle (mine set at 700rpm) and lack of fumes in the garage.

I got the Weapon-R adapter for an 86 and it fits both my 88 vert and my 85 GSL-SE just fine. They are both the same size on bolting up.
