2nd gen fuse for F.I. fusible link

I have the 23 old fusible link in for the fuel injection. I was told that i should upgrade to the 2nd gen fuse and it will run better and idle better etc. Is this the case? Would the old one not be providing enough electric current. But would the 2nd gen fuse help the car idle better and the electic systems for the ecu work better? thanks

as far as i know, the 2nd gen fuses from engine bay actually fit into the fusible link holder on first gens too... i took the whole fuse box tho and installed it. looks better and the connections are more reliable! i had many trouble with loose connections into fusible links.
