notice the emblem underline for the RX-7 on the back..just so you notice it and don't mistake it for a 2 door RX-8..I think Mazda would make a new RX-7 slightly different from it's current RX-8..although the 3 and 6 look somewhat similar, but different enough

I find it funny how defensive you have become. I never said Mazda didn't share platforms with Ford, as it does. So "regardless of who starts the platform" the reality is that the all Mazdas, except the Tribute and B2200, are made in Japan by Mazda. Yes some parts may be shared but the overall product is a Madza. Mazda started the successful 6 and 3 those platforms and engines (i.e. the MZR) will be used for upcoming cars for Ford (Focus, Fusion, Zypher, etc.) It is simply the sharing of platforms through the alliance.
I never had my facts crooked in the first place, I simply rebuttled some of your lies to the RX7Club about a new RX7, a burned "rotary engine" production plant, and the statement that Ford owns Mazda...

They day I see a concept at the yearly international auto show in either Ottawa or Toronto, I'll belive it.
In the meantime, I'm going to look up more info about the Ford/Mazda thing, because IIRC Ford only owns Mazda's North America operations, but I could be wrong.
I'm also going to close this thread because you folks should be more than grown up enough to keep from flaming each other over something like a concept that hasn't been officially released yet.
That yellow car is obviously a chopped Rx8. Who did it and where people got it from are irrelevant seeing as Mazda has not released any official information. I get the feeling that when it's official, we'll be the first to know about it. If you folks can't see the chop, take a close look at the black swatch on the back where it "covers" the rear Rx8 lights to make them look Rx7-like. It's badly done. The big picture is the easiest to see it on.

The Ford Motor Company has owned 25% of Mazda since 1979, and its stake was increased to a 33.4% controlling interest in 1996 when Mazda fell into financial crisis. Ford has based many of its models on Mazdas, such as the Probe, late model (North American) Escort and Mercury Tracer, and the co-developed Escape/Mazda Tribute.
If that's true, then *every* Rx7 has been made with Ford owning part of Mazda. In my mind this means it's business as usual at Mazda, and if they release a new rotary car, it won't be because Ford says so or doesn't say so. The current stake (33% as opposed to the earlier 25%) is said to be a "controlling stake" but all the info that I could find on the ford and mazda sites talks about the companies as seperate entities, with certian joint ventures and designs.
And for the Paint Shop being damaged by fire at Ujina 1, we knew less than a week after how bad the damage was (could have been much worse, and they recovered a big chunk of it) for anyone who reads rotarynews.com.
