The badge says RX-7, and the taillight structure is the same.
Right now I will hold judgements until I sit in one or drive one.

Its true they are bringing back the RX-7, even Drift King said it along with Japanese Mazda Officials. The RX-8 suppose be the 4door version of the rotary and foundation of the new RX-7 for improvement and design. The new RX-7 will be 2door GT car likes its previous generation.

Mazda still hasn't given the go ahead for any 2007 Rx7 design or concept. Don't forget Ford has a most of the pull when it comes to Mazda making decisions like this. There are about three different concept cars floating around out there. Everything is still speculation until there's a true final unveiling of the next Rx7. From what I have read, if there is another Rx7 it will be shorter than the Rx8, and have 300+ HP.

the vert looks nothing like the second car and everything like the convertible RX-8 concept thats supposed to come out in late 06..the solid roof car is sexy as hell tho and I WILL own one when they come out...unless they actually do come out in 07, in which case I'll wait a year or two, because in 07 I'm buying a Shelby.

Everything is up in the air right now since the plant that builds the Rx-8 burnt down.....
Thats why you dont see any 2006 Rx-8's around....
Lets just say that although you can find these pics on the net i have inside sources that tell me that we will see "BOTH" cars.

At least the wheels on the car are photo shopped look above the right rear tire, and below the right front tire obviously photochopped.
Actually the whole car is photo shopped look at the enlarged picture. That is a fake.
2 Rotors the second picture you posted is fake but Rxcalibur did post some pics that do look valid so IMO what you are saying is plausible but your second picture is

the last thing that i heard about an rx-7 when i worked at ford was that yes they were going to come out with "IT" but it wouldn't be a rotary and it would be called something other than the rx-7. so whatever the hell that means...gotta love corporate talk...

I wish they would come back with a new 4th Gen RX-7 but I don't want it looking like a retarded RX-8. I would like it to look like a combination of the 3 previous gens, powered by the new Renesis Rotary. They could have the same model codes as the first gens, S,GS,GSL, and GSL-SE. The S would be base, slowly upgrading until you get to the GSL-SE which would be top of the line and turbocharged. Or possibly having the GSL turbocharged with the GSL-SE twin-turbocharged. That's my idea anyway
