2 piece frt rotors for an FB
Saw them somewhere and they are obviously a SCCA Prod or GT part. Who makes them?????
It was a 2 piece frt and rear rotor kit. Aluminum hats with replaceable vented rotors.
Thought it was in the classifieds and a link to the website,cant find it now.

This is something Im really looking into doing right now for my autox car
With these components you get a choice between a race component for 140 bucks or a street part for 40 bucks.

Both can use the same 8x7.0 hat making for a flexible choice if you want to go all out or street.
I dont have my car handy to do any measurements on the hat offset or stock rotor diameter.
If anyone has a 2nd gen id like to know the rotor diameter of an NA and turbo car and its rotor offset also.

Both of those are to big for a stock caliper. KC does in fact make a setup for a stock GSL-SE brake setup. Thats the deal i need as im limited by Rules. Rules Suck.
The Turbo 2 stuff is only a little over 10 inch rotors. Wilwood stuff is a min of 11.75 inch. Not saying it cant be done,maybe space the calipers out some how.

The trick is to get a hub that fits on the spindle. From that point adapting a rotor and mounting a caliper is a fabrication project.
The KC Raceware setup is designed to meet SCCA E Production rules but that doesn't mean that a different (bigger) rotor couldn't be fitted. They have built them with different lug patterns (4x1110, etc) and the rotors are sourced from Coleman Machine. Call Charlie Clark at KC Raceware and discuss what you want to do. www.kcraceware.com
The RE Speed big brake kit is the same deal. Once you have an FC Hub adapted to your GSL/SE spindle you can have a custom hat/rotor assy made.
That said.....how big do you think you need your rotors to be? First Gen E Prod cars will easily top 140 on most racetracks and they don't suffer from massive brake fade/failure using GSL/SE sized brakes with stock calipers in SCCA National racing conditions. Same with FC E Prod cars (which are a little heavier) using Turbo II brakes.
Would a bigger brake be better - yes - but is it completely necessary - no.
Your application may be different but I think even a super high HP track car is going to have trouble getting around a racetrack faster than properly preped and well driven SCCA E Prod racecar.

I think a lot of people also over look brake pads when they start running into brake issues. They just jump into saying they need bigger brakes, before exploiting other pad material. I normally run the cheapest rotors (around 15$ a piece) and the Hawk HP+ and never had issues. Thats what i was also running before with the stock setup and never really had much of issue, and my main reason to going with the FC setup was for the 5 lug, and better wheel selection.

Im looking at weight and equal or better performance to stock gls se breaks.
were talking 8-10 lbs for a 11.75 inch rotor, hat and caliper.
Wilwood has 10 inch vented rotors though Im not sure it will fit in 13 inch wheels. If they dont then Id rather go with a larger rotor.
Again Im just looking for less weight, I may just try out the NA 2nd gen hubs and stock rotors, even that is a weight savings.

I know user Steves84t11(sp?) has the selectmaz big brake kit on his car. 4x110 bolt pattern using t2 brakes... I've sent Selectmaz over 10 emails the past year with no responses though
