![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Sooooo....
I'm looking at getting an oxygen sensor for the fact that they interest me, and want to see what the results I get when I tune my carb.
Looking at the intake and carb. I notice that the intake has four runners to the engine. (two per rotor housing.) Knowing that my carb (RB 4 barrel Holley) has two air/fuel mix needles. One on each side. Each controls one primary and one secondary. So, I was thinking that each needle controls the air/fuel mix for each rotor. Now does anyone one have the RB header and placed an oxygen sensor on each header pipe? This way you can get readings from each rotor, making sure each has the proper air/fule mix?
Am I a total dunce or does this actually sound like a good idea?

good idea, most people use one gauge and a toggle to moniter both, same with egt.
but o2 meters are cheap enough that 2 wouldnt be a big deal, unless you have mounting problems(dont like multi-pillar guages or are space limited in dash area

That IS the most accurate way to detirme if the engine is running correctly. However if you are going to that state of tune you will probbably need to go with two wide band O2 gauges. The typical a/f gauges are good for ball park rich/lean, and are usually best if used for information and what I would call "general" tunning. (the kind you do in the drive way on your daily driver)
So, error, you probably won't see the benifits of running two oxygen sensonrs unless you are racing. But then again two LCD displays jumping around at night would be pretty cool.

Thanks guys...
Yeah, I thought about the switch, but I'm not sure it I like that idea too much.
I would rather have to gauges side by side and see those instant results.
Easier to compare them, I guess. I just wanted to make sure I was about to do something really stupid, so I brought up the question here. ![Big Grin](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
moremazda - do you recommend a particular wide band oxygen sensor? (or if anyone else has any recommendations)
BTW: The purpose is to tune for racing.

I have not looked into wide bands yet because they are REALLY expensive. They fall into the "You want to go how fast?" catagory for me. I have seen them for upwards of $250. There is a DIY wide-band web site that illustrates wheich O2 sensor to use (Honda part) and they sell a bag of electronic peices to put it together. www.diy-wb.com Also try a google search there are alot sites listed.

Good off-the-shelf Widebands go well over 900 bucks. I ordered this and I will post results on it when it arrives.
I have access to a $5000 wideband setup, so I will do side by side comparisons to see if the resolution is there. It should, as they both use the same O2 sensor.

moremazda - www.diy-wb.com is awsome from what read so far. I will have to read more of it, to see if it will be a feasible application for what I want.
