I'm not sure what year she had, but the gauge cluster looks the same. How the hell do you fit in there? You and I are very similar in size... I wiegh a bit more, 215.

I drive both, each great cars in their own right. The Miata is a better handling car while the RX is a highway cruiser.
However I found no real difference in comfort for a 6.2 driver, in both I would like a little more leg room. My wife at 5.5 finds the RX a bit to big for parking and harder to drive at low speeds without power steering.
Go with what the girl friend wants if you value the relationship. If you like to mess around with cars, get a spare $500 RX and work on it when you are allowed free time!
