Had my own landscaping company back when I was 18-20,but a couple years of bad weather, shelved the whole thing.
Ive been the chief mechanic at my buddies rental company now,for 10 years.Work on medium and small tractors ranging from 20 to 100HP,do all the maintenence on our trucks, and damn near all the work on the other rental equipment, ranging from a weedeater to our Peterbuilt.
Ill have my Class A in a short time,so Ill be on the road more and more, delivering the big stuff.
And since the majority of the workforce around here consists of dumb kids and drug addict adults,I usually also end up.......
Running the counter.
Making service calls.
Winching customers out of the mud, with my Samurai.
Filling propane.
Loading tables and chairs.
Fitting skis and snowboards.
Answering phones.
Babysitting.
Breaking up employee circle jerks in the back of the yard.
Yelling, screaming and be-littling stupid 16 year olds that think they know what they are doing, because they can change the oil on their mom's minivan.
Love my job,not a whole lot of time to wrench though, when you get down to it!

Which is part of the Shevell group we own most of the eastern and central shipping companies that deal with larger companies rather than individuals.
I also work with my uncle who's been working on rotaries since he was born basically, as well as other cars. Only on the weekends.
And I'm a full time Mechanical Engineering student and The New Jersey Institute of Technology.
And I actually have a girlfriend, and time on my hands thanks to time management.

i'm 17, and work at a place called Rt. 85 Lumber which is basically a lumber yard and hardware store (duh) i've been working there for a year now, and i gotta say, for a high school kid, it's an excellent job. (driving forklifts and huge deisel trucks ROCK!!) Plus, i've learned an amazing amount about the building industry and construction. Way better than bagging grocieries. And all for $8 and hour!
