1985 Gsl...gsl Se
#3
The GSL was fully loaded with options, but had little/no performance advantage over the lesser models. Many would say it performed WORSE than the S and GS cars because it was heavier, with the same 101HP engine.
The GSL-SE took all the luxury and options of the GSL,but added a 6 port 13B fuel injected engine with 30% more power and torque. The rearend ratio was lower(4.07) and it had bigger disc brakes all the way around. It also had a more common 114.3MM lug pattern,so aftermarket wheels are easier to find. The only options on the SE were power steering and leather. The basic GSL-SE engine was mildly worked over and altered for duty in the 2nd gen, where it powered all non-turbo RX-7's until 1992.
