Thinking the same thing ^^^ I think the word "priceless" is more appropriate.

At any rate, the forum demands pics of said car... that must be a beautiful example of a 7.

An 83 SE? Thats hard to believe. P.S., was your insurance guy on crack when he did this appraisal? I dought any insurance company will cover you for that. The book value is only around $1500. My classic insurance will insure my car for an agreed upon vale, I have it at $5000.

Guys, lay off of George. He is 73 years old. If you would of checked his profile you would of seen that his car is actually a 84 SE.

I hope to god when I reach that age that I can still remember to leave the house with my pants on,lol.

There are no pictures at this link but you will probably understand why he was able to get it insured for what he did.

George, thats interesting that your car was appraised at such a rate. it makes me believe that our cars are actually going to start going up in value in the eyes of non rx-7 owners. if you had time to post a couple of pics of your SE i'd love to see them. glad to see another ohio guy here!! if you have a chance, register on our sister site, www.ohiorotaries.com hope to see you around!!

I still would love to see pics of this car. It's not often that you would see such an example.

Good job George. It's nice to see an original owner that's not only kept their car, but also kept it in mint condition. Glad to see you're still active and driving, wishing you all the best for another 23 years of happy rotary motoring.

Would love to see some pics of it. If you don't know how to post them, PM me and I'll do my best to walk you through it. Btw, where did you find an appraiser? Someone was asking about that yesterday.

Very interesting. I would say that mileage and condition speak for themselves. Yes, pictures would be great!

You definately have my regards on being the original owner. I was only 4 years old when my car was purchased by the original owner. Puts things into perspective.

Good luck.

Any time! Your the one who posted the information not me. Next time reread it before you post.

Other wise, I would love to see the pics. Sounds like the car is in great shape.

According to NADA and Kelly Blue Book, the 1st gen 7's are all classed as classic or collector cars now. When my car went over 20 years old, it's value according to nada and kbb about doubled and has been that way ever since. Now, I have insurance through Hagerty and with an agreed value of over 15k, and on renewing this year, I was asked if I needed to raise the agreed value which I probably will next year. A clean classic car is worth more to the owner than a book says anyday, however, a good insurance company that recognizes this is priceless. It's exciting to see a clean 1st gen 7 instead of some of the rolling turds you see running around.

My 85 and 78 are insured with Hagerty $12,000 and 10,000, yet 93 is only insured for $10,000, which I should increase.

You should insure for value, in a potential collision even paint job alone can cost more than $5,000.
