1974 housings
Hey guys i got a new motor built for my first gen I let it all up to my mechanic he said he'll take care of me he built my motor with low mileage 1974 housings 12a with the old skool italic letters on them and did couple of other stuff but my question is are these housings unique and hard to find and im impressed with the way it came out it hauls *** and everytime i open that hood people get excited over the different style letters

Yep! Hey are you near Winter Park, FL? I think 12a housings in general are getting harder and harder to find in good usable condition! Unless of course you got the big $$$$ to buy new ones. Thats why I went 13b! Enjoy your 12a !!!

im in apopka next to altamonte springs my mechanic has another set with like 3,000 miles from a barn find and he wants big$$$$ later down the road i will go 13but i wanted to feel what the 12a can do for now because its my first rotary plus it has the oil lines for turbo drilled and tapped i just need to get stuff fabricated but for now it runs perfect

shizz, it looks like the builder glassbeaded your housings. Not necessarily a good thing to do to them as it can errode the aluminum slightly and if he didn't coat them with anything, they'll develope a whiteish 'rust' coating soon. Good luck with that.
This set here never felt the sting of bead blasting. They were smooth and fresh-casted looking... before painting that is. Did it for corrosion protection. The side plates you see are also from '74. Painting was for rust prevention.
