Revhed. a bad week. Peter Brock also dead, perhaps the best Australian race driver of all time. Retired after a very successful career, then at age 61 slides sideways into a tree in his Ferrari when competing in a semi-social road rally. Age and experience, or youth and inexperience, death levels us all.

Don't drive like an idiot through a residential area and you can avoid having the luxury of dying in your beautiful cars... At 17 years old, this guy didn't have enough time behind the wheel to understand the gravity of his actions. Maybe we can learn something from these pictures.
Some of you may wonder why I come across as so harsh, but here's some more info from AusRotaryuser "YNV8S" (quoted):

I personally worked with sean at the AIBN site at UQ, St Lucia.
It was a disturbing sight driving past on my way to work.
Appropriate or not, i will say this, Sean drove that car at two speeds, flat out and idle.
His own foolishness behind the wheels caused this, it is a suburban st, 60 KM/h zone.
Yes it is sad that such a young life was lost, and how he left this world.
To all those who say comments like mine above are disrepectful, what would you say to the family if he had of hit someone walking along the footpath, or ploughed through a group of cyclists. Maybe it could have been your family...
Streets have speed limits for a reason, go to the track if you wanna stuff about.
I have pushed the limits driving, i've been a ******** on the road.
I learnt my lesson the hard way, I hit a pole at 50, I walked away, my ex, who was in the passenger seat, will never walk again.
You dont learn untill its too late.
RIP Sean. Top Bloke. Good Tradesman.
Brook.

Sorry 'bout the kid, but I also know what you mean b/c I drive my car hard, and I almost got hit by a train b/c of not paying attention driving 90 down an unfamilar country road after dropping my girlfriend off, it was a simple reminder that I'm not invincible. but i know I'm gonna die someday and I'd perfer to die in my car going fast. Sorry but it's true.

Driving too fast is nothing new. It has been done since cars first came along. The biggest difference these days, there are so many more people on this earth. This means there are more people driving fast, and more people for them to hit.
Kinda ironic, but one of the first known traffic accidents, occured in a town that only had 2 cars. Seems both drivers thought they owned the road. The town was safer after the accident, as there were no more cars racing thru town..............

The preliminary unofficial report suggests very early in the morning on the way to work, driving 110kph in an urban 60kph zone, good visibility, good road surface, car went sidewards under rapid acceleration. No evidence of clipped curb at present. All indications are the car was in good condition, with highly modified engine well beyond the original design and safety envelope.
Unfortunately hotted up 7s are causing a PR problem, this is why in Australia regulations are getting tighter as to what modifications are permitted. 13BT upgrades are becoming a thing of the past. A recent example was an RX2 previously registered with full engineering, but lapsed when the owner took an overseas holiday, was refused reregistration as it was outside current restrictions.
All deaths are sad, but life is a voyage to death. Some just run more quickly. My worst was seeing an unborn baby ejected in a major crash. At least Sean enjoyed his RX almost to the last, and his decision caused no collateral damage.

No way, he was going WAY faster than 110 Km. The freakin' B pillar is smashed, and if I remember right, there's more than a couple of people on here that can attest to the strength of the B pillars (I think Mantis is one?)
That thing was shredded. At least he wont be lookin' down on his p/d being stripped by vultures.
RIP, but may we ALL learn a lesson or two.
