13B Peripheral Port FB
Well I spent this last weekend building and installing the 13B PP. It was a lot of work and I would still do it again as long as Ashley would let me. Thanks to Forcefed (Marko and SNK) for your help, thanks to West for the oil pressure regulator, thanks to Ashley for alowing me to be gone all weekend, and last but not least thanks to Pimpdaddy for making me laugh.
I still have some things to do to get the horsepower level up like she needs 2-1/2 or 3" exhaust (still running the stock 12A piping) and need to buy some weber jets to lean it out since she is running a 12.0 AFR. We dynoed her last night and she made 164.2 rwhp that is 33.2 rwhp over the 12A 1/2 bridge.
Now for the pics, I hope you guys like her as much as I do.
Dyno Truth. The blue line is the 12A and the pink line is the 13B PP

Exhaust makes a huge difference with a PP. There is a 13b mild PP FC here running 227 rwhp on efi and standalone. The thing does brap like crazy and throws wild flames too! http://forum.teamfc3s.org/showthread.php?t=55306

No its not a full race car yet, however I don't think I'll be driving it too much on the street due to the sound factor. Its a rolling VI waiting to happen. After I built the car and dyno'd her I drove it home about 45min back to my house and to my surprise it's better than the 1/2 bridge I had. With my half bridge when you were at cruising speeds on the highway I would get the bucking in the car if i wasn't on the gas. With the PP it was nice and smooth, well alot better than the bridge on the highway. It does however like to have the gas pedel pushed down to the floor. On that 45 min drive I used a 1/4 tank of 94, wow what a gas guzzler. lol. Another little test I gave her was in 5th gear and stompped on it and it pulls hard in 5th, not like the 12A half bridge.
Kim here is a little info on the housings. They are a mild PP 44mm diameter, which my 48 IDA is suitable for. They are also from a 1974 RX3 I beleive and have seen carbon seals there whole life except for when it was supercharged and when the engine was still in the car it came from. Here are some pics of the housings before assembly and some polishing work.

Sweet.
So at steady throttle it doesn't kick and buck?
When you say it like lots of gas pedal are you saying it doesn't run well at lower rpms or what?
What size chokes in the carb? What is the timing set to - periperal ports like lots of timing. And how far down the exhaust system will you collect the two pipes?

at a steady throttle it does not kick and buck. 90% smooth
it used a 1/4 tank of gas for 45 minutes of driving.
it has 37mm chokes machined out to about 42mm, 164.2 rwhp was made as a best. We screwed around with the timing and ended up putting it back to where we started. I will collect the pipes at the end of the header into a 3" pipe i beleive.
164.2rwhp was made a about 8000rpm

Welcome to the PP club
I'd say that your motor should make power until at least 9,000rpm once it's sorted (I have limiter at 9250rpm) What have you got it idling at?
PP's provide some of the best fun you can have with your clothes on

OBEY YOUR MAZDA
Retarded question:
Anyone know what kindda CO% a Peripheral port will do.?
I'm thinking Rx-3, 12A PP passing emissions only requires CO % when the car is older than April 1984, atleast here in Denmark.

I need a new user title
Not good enough to pass if Denmark has emissions laws that are in any way reasonable.

hella sweet! would love to see video of that thing at idle and on the move (nothing crazy necessarily). congratulations and i hope you enjoy it for many times to come.
on a side note: perhaps it's just the lighting, but is that lower radiator hose twisted and stressed? if so, won't that promote total collapse at upper RPM? just wouldn't want to hear that motor you worked so hard on popped over a rubber hose. maybe make a custom coupling or something?????

I'm drag racing tonight and my wife is going to get some videos of it making passes, so i will post them up late tonight or saturday. I'm also doing some bracket racing this weekend so tonight is just to get some seat time with the new engine so i can try a dial my time for the weekend.
