13B auto using a 12A manual?

Is it possible to use the 12A manual behind the 13B?
The 13B is from an '88, and so are all of its electronics. The manual is from an '81.
This would be going into a used-to-be-boinger vehicle, so driveshafts and mounts wouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, you helped me decide to get my 12A car way back when! Maybe January?
I was putting a 12A in my truck, but the motor's seized. Hopefully just carbon locked, but if I can't spin it tomorrow, I'm buying the '88 for it.

Is the 13b still in the car?

Yeah, I'll be buying the car for the 13B and it's wiring harness.
The rest of it, including the height adjusting struts, LSD rear end, and perfect body are of no need to me, so they'll be up for sale or trade or whatever.

So you are going to install the engine complete and utilize the ECU to run the injection system?

If it is an Automatic car then remember to install a Pilot bearing before you put it all together. And if you are wanting to use a lightened steel flywheel then save the rear counterweight that comes off of the engine.

If you are going to run a stock flywheel for now then you need to get a flywheel off of a M/T car for that year engine.

That's the plan. I'd like to carb it so I don't have to deal with the wires, but it would be more of a pain to deal with the carb swap.

Actually it is very easy to run that engine carb'd. Since we don't have emission testing here you could run any of the after market carbs. If you are after fuel economy then you could run the ECU.

Meh, don't care about fuel economy on this rig. I'll start looking into carbing it.
I think the shell of the car would be more appealing to someone if I didn't have to rip out all of the F.I. stuff.

Yes it would.

Just do a search with key words such as. Mikuni, Weber, Oer, that will give you some good info on the different types that you can use. Holley is another one but not a favorite of mine. Members have also use the Edelbrocks.

Personally I prefer the side drafts.

What about the stock 12A set-up? What's the CFM like on that compared to what the aftermarket carbs are?

Looks like 364:

Huh. Wow...

And I found a bunch of 600 CFM swaps.

Guess I'll see how the 12A took the oil in the plug holes and see if I need to spend my $900 on a 13B or coilovers for the Audi!

I may have an engine for you. It's a 12A with only a few thousand miles since the rebuild. I'd want a thousand bucks for it. It's a great runner with a carb.

I'm going with an EFI engine in my car so I don't need the 12A anymore. We can discuss it further if you're interested.

Any porting? Time frame? I bought an '88 today, full car, but it's way too nice to rip apart; everyone I know would kill me. I may resell it.
