Question 12AT swap?

I have found that there was a 12A- turbo that was produced in Japan, how can I get my hands on of those?

Is it worth it or is there another way to put a turbo on it?

Depends on what you are willing to put out of your pocket. Corksport wants under a $1000 for a 12at but you have to produce the fuel managment, which is over a $1000 it self to do it correctly. Then with any mod like this exhaust, intercooler, tranny condition, fuel delivery. You would defently have more power pottential with a 13b turbo and there are more parts availiable state side to make the swap work. I'm assuming your are putting this in first gen! A 12at will be about 100lbs lighter though when you are all said and done. Is it worth it? Thats for you to decide.

there is always the option of turbocharging your n/a 12a. Is that what you have right now?

Im definetaly going the 13bt route with a Haltec Ek6...

Just checked taht site and Ill be dammed there is one on there for 930, but good luck finding rebuild parts for if you need to ..

Theres a lot of info on here about this, I just did a post recently for a 13b swap in mine,.

Just search under my name or 13bt swap

You will have to swap the front cover so the engine bolts in the front.
The regualr tranny probally wont take a lot fo abuse, so go with the T2 tranny.
You'll need EFI and probally a stand alone ECU too, unless you are a master of wiring.

You looking at about 3,000 in parts no counting the motor to do it right, and if you do it yourself that is.

Well your post subject reads 12AT swap, but one of your post says :

I have an 84 GSL 5spd will a 13b turbo bolt up to the motor mounts and tranny?
Will I ahve to convert over to EFI?
I also forgot to mention, when using the EFI, you have to swap the fuel pump and lines, t2 slave cylinder for the t2 tranny, OMP pump and lines. Theres a few otyher things too like you need 2nd gen coil packs etc..
