Question 12a turbo transmission
what transmission was used in the jdm 12a turbos? and how strong is the stock 12a transmission?

You can find a lot of information on tranny's here

They say a 12at tranny is similar to an ns4 n/a tranny.

iam going to need to know what to do to my sa for next winter to make the tranny hold up i dont want my trans to be the week link.

probably used the same trans as a gslse. I would do the second gen n/a swap if you can find a good one.

To put in a 2nd gen n/a transmission into a first gen body, do you encounter the same problem as installing a TurboII transmission, being the shifter location doesn't line up properly w/out swapping tails...?

My first generation N / A gearbox has the same body as the second generation as N / A.
I just think the gradation is different.

Has first generation N / A and turbo the same gearbox?
