I'm just curious as to what this looks like and where it would be bolting onto.

It would be where the header normally bolts to. Right on the exhaust ports.

Japan... good luck. Mostly custom manifolds are left for you to choose from now. Try www.rotaryshack.com or PM Robert if you are really serious about getting a nice turbo manifold.

thier is only one way that is gaurented to work you have to go to japan and go to a junk yard and find a 85 rx-7 turbo charged 12a it was only made for one year and was rare so good luck finding it i have already tried with numerous japanese freinds, the biggest problem is japan has veryy little space so they tend to scrap cars when they get sent to junk yard and make them into a box of metal

Unless you are a highly skilled welder and know what the f@3 you are doing i would ditch the idea. If you dont get a perfectly flat surface to make contact with the exaust you will blow a leak causing your temps to go sky high and most likely warp and or melt numberos things. The only type of welding i would use would be 17-30 stick welding and make it a good bead at least 1/4 inch with some good solid steel. once again it is possible, but considdering the mere fact that you asked this question makes me wonder how much you know.

You guys act like this is hard. Do your research. Find out what you want. Ask legitimant questions. Then make it work. If you find this is beyond your abilitys, or you don't have the money to pay someone (me) to do it for you, then go with the easy simple bolt ons, and enjoy your RX7. Most people who start building a Turbo first gen, usually winds up not finishing it. Do realize this will consume your funds and all your free time for quite a while. Anyway, this is a S4 turbo on a 12A with a front mount ic, blowthrough Nikki running 12 psi boost.
